Holy Land USA
Waterbury, ConnecticutHoly Land USA was once an 18 acre Bible-themed park located in Waterbury, Connecticut. The park had about 40,000 visitors a year until it closed in 1984 for renovations. Holy Land USA never opened back up again due to the death of owner John Greco in 1986. It has been abandoned ever since. The abandoned acres of the theme park have been watched over by groups of nuns for decades, but the place keeps getting more and more creepy as the park continues to deteriorate.
On top of the vandalism and eeriness the park gives off, a teenager was murdered on these abandoned grounds in 2010. Since then police records have shown that the amount of trespassers have been decreasing which just means abandoned Holy Land USA is as creepy and deserted as ever.

Can I just say how cool it was that both of these superheroines’ personalities and powers were explored in this episode? And how well it was done?
Starfire was not shamed for being emotional. Her powers come from her emotions.
Raven was not shamed for suppressing her emotions. Her power requires amazing control.
They both. Work. They are both different kinds of strength, and they are both heroic and powerful and good. And they each learned from the other, and helped each other out by seeing from each others’ perspective, and finding the value in their differing approaches! Wow!
Fuck yes, this is how you write super-ladies, okay. There’s more than one way to be a “strong female character.” There’s all different kinds of strength. Why don’t more people GET this?

The one upside about not being able to put on weight is I have a 6-pack that I barely even have to work to keep.

Here’s a hilarious Helen Keller joke!
Do you know what no one saw or heard coming?
Helen Keller’s radical socialist activism for the rights of the poor, women, the disabled. And so people ignored and belittled her politics. They argued a deaf, blind…Posted on May 18, 2013 via Ex Astris Lacerta with 14,503 notes

I’ve had three people text me first today and start a conversation,
Only to have them not reply after my first response.
If you’re going to text me, please at least answer me when I fucking respond. Seriously, I’m lonely enough as it is, I don’t need you reminding me that I am alone.

a friend came round to help me revise and forgot to log out of her facebook on my laptop so I’ve spent the last 20 minutes devoting her facebook to trains.
I’ve also got the middle name “ILikeTrains” pending and have joined 50 “I love trains” groups.

They’re…Hm..hard to explain. They’re like platform boots that are UV reactive?

I shall post pics of them in black light tomorrow when I am not comfy in bed. And I’ll look up what site I got them off of as well!

If you think abortions ok, remember what Horton says.
Awkward. Dr. Seuss and his wife were really liberal and pro-choice. They’ve even threatened to sue pro-life organizations for using this quote the wrong way (the way you’re doing it actually). I guess you didn’t already know that Horton Hears a Who is about the American occupation of Japan post-WWII. He even dedicated it to his dear Japanese friend.
Mrs. Geisel (Mrs. Seuss) continued donating to Planned Parenthood and advocating for reproductive health and rights after her husband died.

My big non-shelved plushes have to hang out in the closet for now. I had fun arranging them so that I can easily still open the sliding doors, and they won’t fall or anything. You can only see about 1/3 of them or less, though!
I’m posting photos of some of my larger plush on my personal blog right now if you want to take a look! (Though I might switch to posting pet pictures at any point, haha.)
One day..
